BlackBerry Coming to the World Conference held in Orlando, Florida, USA, 3-5 May 2011, Research In Motion (RIM) announced a new smartphone models, Bold 9900 and 9930. Both models are identical for different networks. Model 9900 for GSM, while the 9930 for CDMA. It looked like any other Bold series. However, not only using the QWERTY keypad, a touch screen BlackBerry this.
BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 is also the first smartphone that will use the BlackBerry operating system 7. The shape is similar to the Bold series in general, but is thinner because it is only 10.5 mm thick or the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone model so far.
"Bold new BlackBerry smartphones and BlackBerry 7 OS inspired millions of consumers around the world who want the best combination of performance, function and style," said Mike Lazaridis, Co-CEO of RIM, in a press release on Monday (02/05/2011).
BlackBerry operating system 7 provides a new experience to add convenience and user satisfaction. For example, faster browsing, there are additional search feature with sound, can manage personal and corporate content separately, and can arrange a personal application with office applications for the security of sensitive data.
Updated its browser application with features that provide Liquid Graphics rendering process faster, better panning and zooming, and compiler JIT (just in time) the latest JavaScript that makes web sites open faster. The browser is also already supporting elements more and HTML5 HTML5 video.
Performance capability is supported only with 1.2 GHz processor. Connection is also already supporting the 4G network. In addition, both are already equipped with NFC chips (near field communication) system in anticipation of future transactions. Bold 9900 and 9930 also is equipped with magnetometers (compass built in) to support location-based services and augmented reality. The camera can record 720p HD video. Multimedia applications also can play HD video with the same image quality.
Both will be available in some countries in the world in the summer of this year.
