Although new to be released at the end of this year, but Mitsubishi has begun to open orders for compact electric commercial vehicles, "minicab-MiEV". Electric vehicle technology used in the minicab was adopted directly from a small electric car Mitsubishi i-MiEV. Before deciding to sell commercial vehicles, Mitsubishi has made use of the vehicle with the practicality test Yamato Transport Co.. Ltd. since October 2010.
Two variants of minicab-MiEV offers differentiated based on battery capacity. For minibuses which uses 10.5 kWh battery, a distance of 100 km for all content, sold ¥ 1,700,000 (USD 180 million). While a larger capacity 16.0 kWh, can be used for menepuh distance of 150 km, sold and ¥ 2,050,000 (USD 210 million). This, too, if the government provides incentives that are still applicable until fiscal 2011.
Nevertheless, because it is used for commercial purposes, the buyer will not get the incentive.
